Again the Lays keep on going and now stand at 17 points for the month.
Unfortunateley the Backs are still struggling with their fare share of misfortune. The first came a close 2nd, the second also came 2nd after we thought he had it and the last one gave up along with the favourite in the last 1/2 furlong to outsiders and came 6th. There was a bit of argy bargy between him and the favourite in the last furlong and they let the outsiders pass. Oh well, tomorrows the last day of the year so lets hope we can finish with a flourish.
Well the Lays carry on with 16 points in the bag. The Backs were unfortunate today , the last race was a 2 horse race with Dover Street Art and Tartan Gunna being the 2. I think Hayley Turner wanted it more whilst chasing her 100th winner this year.
We are still up on points with a few days left in this months racing to try and recover some of the losses on the Backs.
An excellent way to start a new week with the first Lay being well beaten and both the Backs winning for us giving us a net profit of just over 4 points on the Day
The Lays now stand at 15 points up for the month and the Backs have been pulled back by 3+ points to stand at -10.19.
Hopefully we can reduce the Back deficit by the end of the week, although we are now just under 5 points taking Lays and Backs into account.
Looks like a case of seconditus again. Most of the runners prices today came down to figures like 1.08 in running, I though we had a few of them in the bag but jockeys mis-timing their runs have let us down . How it could have been so different. Overall on the Backs we are 1.5 points worse off as the last horse came in well for us.
The Lays on the other hand continue their profits and we now stand at +13 points, which gives the overall picture a slightly better look. However we are working extremely hard to try and get our Back selections back on track, the bad luck we have been experiencing, losing to 20/1 and 12/1 shots will break and we look forward to getting back to our winning ways.
Yet another difficult day. The lays continue to hold their end up, but the backs continue to be hard work. We can still turn this around there is still time before the end of the month.
What happened to Ruby Walsh on 'Picture This' is anyones guess and the 1820 at Kempton our horse drifted lke a barge and seeing the result - you can see why.
Overall with the backs and the lays we are break even. I know that some of you only do the backs, some only do the lays, and some do both.
We are determined to get the backs to there historical strike rate.
Our only sucess on the day was the lay, which came 2nd.
The backs just did not do the business, we would have expected at least 2 of these to have won their race, but not to be.
We are 9 points up on the lays and down 8.67 on the backs, lets hope for a better day tomorrow, it will only take a few winners for us to get into profit.
A nice recovery today with 2 out of 3 winners, which is more like what we are used to. Its a start to get us back into a profit position with the Backs, only a few winners and we are there.
Overall for the month so far we are still in profit taking the Lays into account.
Are we glad to see the back of that week. We have had 15 Back selections of which we only had 4 winners, 8 places of which 5 were 2nd. How a little bit of luck could have changed the whole outlook, instead of a 27% strike rate.
Anyway as we all know it doesnt take much to pull that around and we are confident that this is just a short term blip. So roll on next week.
The Lays eventually played ball and we are now 8 points up. So overall we are only just in a negative situation.
Anyway onwards and upwards and keep the faith, speak to you all Sunday.
Well lets hope that this is the break that we needed to stop the bad spell that we have been through recently.
Every system goes through spells where they do not perform as advertised, we have subscribed to our fair share in the past and as soon as we joined the wheels fell off. I dare say a number of you have experienced the same. Well we can confirm that our previous records do stand up for themselves. Yes, this has been a rough time on the Back selections but the Lays have been doing well and overall we are in a slight profit for the month.
The results today with 2 wins and 2 seconds could quite easily have been better but they were not. The odds on Lay was well beaten and continues to build up a nice points tally.
Don't forget this is your Blog site so you can make comments for us and all the members to see.
Well the climb back has started on the Backs. I think we were a little unfortunate not to be another couple of points up on the day after the first selection, SUFAD, lost his footing after getting himself into a very good position. Never mind we are still up on the day.
The Lays carry on and now put us 6 points up so that helps the overall profit position.
Good result for us today with the lay comming 6th. That gives us +5 points for the lays and -4.86 for the backs. We are near enough break even....................... That gives us a base to head for the12 point target.
Good evening, well what a day, I really think Kosta Bravo had a problem, but they are the breaks. The next , Bobby on the Beat was just awful, sorry about that.
The lay came in for us today, so we are +2 points the lays we are -6.5 on the backs -4.5 overall we can turn that around.
So until tomorrow - lets see what the weather is like - snow is forecast...............................
I thought we were on for a good day today after the first came in at a good price. The others were disappointing runs with Spare Cash being pulled up when looking good.
Thats 2 days were we have been unlucky but , as the members who have been with us a while all know, it doesnt take long to turn that around.
The good news is that out first Lay of the month was comprehensively beaten back into a minor place.
Not a brilliant start to the month, firstly the Database had gremlins (sorted out now). Then we had 4 losers. The first 2 were beaten well, but I thought Spanchil Hill had the race won then just totally ran out of petrol. To cap it all Zacharova was running on in the lead by an increasing pace then totaaly messed up the second last and fell.
Oh well as they say the only way is up and I'm sure we will put it right tomorrow, and it is only the first day of the month.
