Well I think we can say that was a nice way to finish the month, although we still ended down on the Backs. It has been the worst month on record, although overall for the year we are still doing very well. Now we have got that out of the way we can hopefully look forward to a profitable September.
The Lays did well for themselves with a healthy 17 points, even though they seemed to dry up to wards the latter part of the month.
As I said this morning we do not broadcast any selections on Bank Holidays so the next day will be Tuesday September 1st, which is the 70th anniversary of WWII and my Birthday and no I'm not saying how old.
Till Tuesday then, have a nice Bank Holiday Monday..................................
Good Evening, well we ended the day a couple of points up, which is nice but still leaves us about 10 points adrift on the backs and 17 points up on thelays.
Speak to you all Sunday...............................
Not a good result for us today. We really thought that it would do the business. But like alot of our selections this month they have just not done enough. We will try and cut the loss tomorrow.
Well at least we had a positive day with the Lay giving us another point and the Backs putting up a profit overall, shame the middle 2 didn't do anything.
Still a profit is a profit and helps us on our way to getting back into a positive position on the Backs.
England are doing pretty well, last checked Australia were 268/5. COME ON ENGLAND.
A small profit today which still leaves us -9.3 points adrift, we will try and lower that next week. The lays however are 15 points up so overall not a total disaster.
Well what can we say, the Lays selections were all over after the first but the Backs were dreadful after the first unseating rider and the second going rather flat with a furlong to go.
The trouble is our system has proved itself over years and always comes up trumps or at least virtually break even, usually the former. So all we can do is keep plugging away and try and pull back our losses and hope to get some profit before the end of the month.
All we can say to the newbies to our membership is don't start thinking the old ' as soon as I join it goes wrong ' because we have all been there and done that, be honest haven't we. All systems have troughs, and as said previously our records show that they are not to deep and usually recover to profit before the end of the month so KEEP THE FAITH.
The bad run continues on the backs - the lays are going well. All bad runs come to an end and I am sure this one is no different. Lets hope it starts tomorrow.
Good evening, racing never ceases to amaze and today was no exception. NEW CHRISTMAS ran the race without the jockey on his back he was left high and dry in the stalls, and it looked as though he would have won the race. And that was our second selection.
One of those days again where things could have been so different. I felt Hayley Turner on our first Back was unlucky when she just started her run through looking very good and then got blocked off so she had to switch outside. Never mind thats racing. We still ended up 1/4 of a point up, better than nothing.
Now I would like to draw attention to the Lays today. There is a little confusion with the rules after the selections have been issued in the morning. The main stumbling point is the 20% non runner rule. It appears that we can not differentiate whether the non runner is pre or post 0930, as is described on the members site, using the GHB. Now as some of you use the GHB and to make it very clear for all concerned we will now make the rule that if the 20% non runner is exceeded then it is a NO BET.
I hope that is clear, if anyone has an opinion or wants more clarity then please either E-Mail us or put you suggestions or questions up on this blog as a comment.
Lets hope tomorrow improves or luck, till then.............................
Not one of our better days today. With only 1 back comming in for us, some were really awful. It will get better we are not that far from breakeven and then into profit. The first lay came in for us so adding both together we are at breakeven.
Not a brilliant day for the Backs with some very disappointing results, but it is early days and as we all know we can turn it around very quickly.
The Lays did us proud and gained another point.
Thankyou for all those who E-Mailed us with answers to the Lay question we asked this morning. If you haven't had a chance to answer yet please do as all info is valuable to us and helps us improve things.
Going on from that we are always looking for ideas that can reduce our exposure in the Lay system. Recently we introduced the 20% NR and less than 5 runners rule after testing for quite a while. We now have another rule to introduce and that is if the price drops to or below 1.99 at the 30 seconds before the off then selection is void.
So in a nutshell
Less than 5 runners, more than 20% of book (after 9.30) non runners and 1.99 or less at the 30 second point then selection is VOID.
Rubbish start to the month with no Backs available and the Lay came first. The second Lay selection was a NO BET due to the fact that more than 20% were non runners and there were only 3 left in the race, after 5 dropped out.
On to tomorrow and hope for some decent cards to go at.................
