A Bit of a damp squib to end the month. The only back was beaten ( the other was a non runner ) However although the lays were well behind our normal level the backs finished over 30 points up which is great news.
Quite a reasonable day today with the Lays coming in after the 2nd attempt and the Backs giving us a just under a point profit for the day.
Over the next week we will endeavor to keep service as usual but I have to say that today we received some bad news about a bereavement in the family so we will be away from our desks but are taking the laptops in order to still try and transmit our selections. Please forgive us if we miss a day or get the selections out a bit late be we will try to keep business as usual.
What a day, the first looking positive then fell, the second absolutely hammered coming 7th and the last coming in for us and pulling our loss back to just over 1/2 a point. Not as bad a day as it was looking. Anyway on to tomorrow and try and put some more profits on the board.
Well that was a very nice 100% day with the first Lay doing the business for us and the 2nd one going down aswell was just the icing on the cake.
The Backs did us proud again, with nearly 4 points. I know they were fairly low prices and 1 very close to our limit but thats the way it is sometimes. Our criteria shows us the favourites that are likely to win or lose and the price then the price is looked at just before we issue them.
Well onwards and upwards and let hope for another good day tomorrow.................
A good day for us today, with 3 out of the 4 backs comming in in for us, and the lay getting well beat. Lets carry on with the good run tomorrow...........
Firstly I would like to thank all those members who took the time to reply to our letter last week, plenty of positive comments and some suggestions that have given Graham and I plenty to think about with respect to the direction we should follow with the Lays. As quite a few members stated it was the first real bad Lay result that we have had, but you know sods law. Anyway more about that a bit later when we hope the last few comments are returned.
On to today, no Lays today, there was one that was close but not quite in our range and he came 4th as it happened. The Backs started off with an abysmal run by Dherghaam which went off odds on and came 7th !!!! The last back was a non runner giving us 2 nice wins for the day and nearly 2 points. A bit of an up and down week with a nett gain of just over 4 points. We hope to do better next week and will certainly be trying our hardest to reduce the deficit on the Lays for those of you who follow them.
Another positive day, could have been better but our first selection had an awful race, don't think he wanted to come out of the gate and certainly did not look like he wanted to be there today, never mind we are all entitled to an off day.
The Lay selections went down after the first selection and gave us another point off the tally.
Lets hope for a better day tomorrow....................
Not a bad day at the office with 2.5 points up on the Backs and another point on the first Lay of the day.

Very frustrating day again with 2 of the 3 Back selections coming 2nd. The Lay was convincingly beaten in the first race giving us another point.
Not alot more to say really, made a nice few points on the Backs only to lose a few by the end of the week, still its still upwards on last Friday.
As I mentioned this morning we will be sending out a letter to you all over the weekend and if you could all take a little time and send us a reply we would very much appreciate it.
One of those days of might have beens, 3 selections coming 2nd. At least the Lay was well beaten. Not much more t say about it really except roll on tomorrow.
Not a bad day for us with the Lays pulling back a few points, still along way to go.
The Backs did a good job for us, hope you all noticed the 3 point requirement on the first selection. It is not something we do very often, in fact I cannot remember when everything fell right for us to actually warrant it, but today it did and it paid off, giving us a nice 7.95 point boost even if you were only trading it still made a good return.
Lets hope we can keep everything ticking over tomorrow, till then.............................
A bit of an eventful day at Sedgefield, with our first selection being in the Mêlée at the beginning and getting kicked in the head. At least Lucy Horner has recovered in hospital, never mind we went on to make another 3 1/2 points bringing our Backs total to 18.27.
Unfortunately the first Lay went on to win after the price drifting right out in running, I thought it was beaten, then our 2nd Lay became a non-runner. Still we are 2 down in the sequence so lets hope we can recover it tomorrow.
The Backs started off a bit slow and to be fair, I though our 2nd selection, AALSMEER, beaten by a 40/1 shot did not run to his best. Anyway we ended up in profit if you backed them and also if you traded.
The Lay came through right at the end to win the race and is carried forward to tomorrow.

The backs have taken us to 12.93 points up for the month, which is our target. It does sound a bit hollow when compared to the lays. Even though the lay came 2nd today.
So until tomorrow...................................
A neutral day on the Backs with 1 win and 2 losers so our points are as yesterday. Still only just 1/2 a point from our 12 point target, we should breeze past that next week.
The Lays were catastrophic!!!! As Graham said this morning basically it was judgment day and it was pointed out that only the people who Lay could make the decision. We obviously had to show the selection and record it on our site. We just wonder what those of you who Lay did. It is sods law that one day they will come and bite you in the you know where, its just a matter of whether you had built up a big enough bank from all the successful selections. No point in bleating on the deed has happened lets get on and put it behind us.
The Backs did well again today bringing us up to 11.48 which is just shy of the monthly target.
The Lays on the other hand have took a nose dive with 1 N/R and the other 3 winning. I must admit COLLATERAL DAMAGE looked a beaten horse but came on and won. Still lets see what tomorrow brings.
Well thats what I call a good day at the office. OK the last Back let us down having been backed in to about 1.7 before the off and then not even being placed. Never mind we still made 6.84 points on the day.
The Lays did it for us again even though the first selection was a NO BET because more than 20% of the book was declared non runners, even though it lost anyway. The second duly obliged giving us another point on the Lays total.
Hope everybody is happy and we look forward to another good day tomorrow.
Nice start to the month with the Back winning for us and the first Lay going down as well.
Pity we can't say that about our database this morning. We have a gremlin in there somewhere that for some reason did not show the Lays correctly on the broadcast and tip area, however it did let the database update and also for those of you using GHB it let that work as well. Very strange!! Anyway we are working on it and hope to have it sorted for tomorrow.
